Who Should Go On A Rally, And Why?

Do you like Cars and Coffees but ALSO like to go for a ride on beautiful roads?  Do you like to be challenged answering questions about what you see on route? Do you like to enjoy a nice meal with your Porsche friends? Then come to an NER Rally! These are perfect events for first timers and/or 4-door Porsche drivers.

This is a casual, non-competitive (well, there are winners but it is really low key) opportunity to go for a nice ride and make some new friends. If you haven’t been to an NER event, this is a great first one that requires no skill other than normal driving and the ability to avoid driver/navigator disharmony.

What Is A Rally Like?

These are “gimmick” rallies. We meet up around 9am for a Driver meeting. You should come with a driver and a navigator (a few kids in the back seat are even better!). You’ll be given paper route instructions with questions interspersed (also a gps map). Cars are sent off about once a minute and drive a lovely course looking for the clues to answer the questions. Everyone winds up at a restaurant where we have lunch, award the winners and have a few laughs. We’re done by 2pm or so.

Where and When Do Rallies Take Place?

We have at least two and perhaps three Rallies each year. We move them around so that we hit the different parts of our region.  The Fall Rally is the Dow Rally, named after Charlie and Martha Dow who were founders of our region. Look for these in the events page.

How Do I Sign Up?

Like all our events, sign up at MotorsportReg (you will need to make an account if you do not already have one).  You will be asked to pick a “Fun Team Name.” You must sign up 10 days before the event so that we get an accurate headcount for the restaurant. If for some reason you need to cancel please alert the event manager.
