This is our second of two events at Palmer in 2017. PMP Whiskey Hill Raceway is 2.3 miles long, 40-feet wide, and has over 190 feet of elevation change. Designed by grassroot racers and professional track designers and carved out of Whiskey Hill granite the road course is a 14-turn rollercoaster ride around a scenic and secluded alpine wilderness.
Track Map Attached is an updated map showing the track as built. If you’ve seen an earlier map note that the final layout has resulted in T2 disappearing into a single, long arc between what was T1 – T3. The rest of the corners are as shown before but the numbers all decrease by one. Easiest way to identify the final layout is there are 14 corners, not 15.
Classroom Activities and Coaching: Pro coach Lee Carpentier, the owner of Advance Motorsports Inc., will be joining us at this event. He will be conducting classroom sessions as shown on the schedule for both instructors and solo drivers at this event. We also expect Lee to be available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for a very worthwhile fee to solo drivers interested in individual coaching sessions. Contact Lee at 1-631-379-8400 or [email protected] if you would like to get on his dance card in advance.
Sound Limits: The sound limit is 95 decibels on the A scale, as measured at 50 feet from the track edge by track management. Vehicles in violation will not be allowed to continue use of the track without correcting the situation. Any vehicle causing a violation will be immediately black flagged and not allowed back on track until corrective measures have been taken. Any vehicle found to be in violation a third time will be excluded without refund from further participation in the event.
Garage Information: Garages and carports may be reserved online or at the track (first-come, first-serve). These are enclosed single car garage bays with 110v power. Carports are open with WiFi, no power. All Garage/Carport Reservations must be made directly through PMP. In an effort to make this process as convenient as possible, they will be accepting reservations on their website at: Garages. Garage rates are $120 for all three days. Carport rates are $100 for all three days.
Social: The DE Social Team has really gone all out to pull together a terrific social/dinner trackside on Friday evening. Beer, wine, soda will be served after the track goes cold followed by a catered dinner trackside by Something Special Catering (this is not subs, burgers and dogs, but rather a “real meal”). The beer/wine social is open to all. Tickets for the catered dinner are $20 per person and are available through ClubReg when you register for the event. Drivers can purchase tickets for family and guests. Please order dinner tickets in ClubReg so we have an accurate count of the number of people attending the dinner. We will have a limited number of tickets available for purchase at the track.
Fuel:Palmer now has 93 and 100 octane fuel available at the track. Prices as of September 1st are $4.50 and $11 per gallon respectively. The nearest fuel locally is a Sunoco on Rt 67 approximately 3.5 miles from the track (turn left on West Ware Road leaving the track, turn left on Rt 67, drive 1.9 miles, Sunoco on the left). If you get crossed up and turn right don’t panic, there’s another Sunoco on Rt 67 about 6 miles down.
Lodging: The Sturbridge Host Hotel at 366 Main Street, Sturbridge, MA 01566 is offering discounted rates of $79 per night to people participating in events at Palmer. Call 508-347-7393 for reservations and say that you are with “Palmer Motorsports Park” to get the group rate.
