Participants are responsible for the safety of their cars. Technical Inspectors will not be held liable for safety of the car. 

All vehicles participating in a PCA NER or NCR HPDE must go through the inspection process as described below, regardless of vehicle manufacturer.  Note that other PCA regions and clubs may have different rules.

We are changing the inspection process this year (2026) for all run groups.  This year, all drivers have the option to do one Pre-Track Car Safety Technical Inspection every 120 days and use that one inspection for up to 4 HPDE events with certain caveats.  The forms are identical for both NER and NCR.  The process works as follows:

• All Porsches must be inspected at a PCA authorized inspection station prior to an event. The inspection station will sign the NER/NCR Pre-Track Car Safety Technical Inspection Form, and apply their official stamp, indicating that the vehicle has passed the inspection.
• Non-Porsches must be inspected by a shop or dealer familiar with the brand prior to an event. For example, if you have a BMW, bring it to a BMW dealer or an independent shop that is familiar with BMWs. The shop or dealer will sign the form indicating that the vehicle has passed all points of the inspection. The NER/NCR Pre-Track Car Safety Technical Inspection Form must be used. The dealer or shop should stamp the form with a stamp if they have one that shows their name and address. If they don’t have a stamp, please attach a copy of the receipt to the form.
• The NER/NCR Pre-Track Car Safety Technical Inspection Form will now be valid for 120 days or 4 HPDE events, whichever comes first.
• Participants from other PCA regions may use their region’s 2026 Tech Form instead of the NER/NCR Pre-Track Car Safety Technical Inspection Form.
• You will bring that tech form to the HPDE and show it at registration to verify you’ve had the car inspected within the past 120 days.  You will keep this form for future events.  You will not turn it in.
• You will then proceed to the daily tech line where you will turn in the NER/NCR Final Safety Inspection Form. This second form is to attest that you have looked over your car thoroughly and have found it to be in good running shape.

• If you are not comfortable looking over your car and filling out the NER/NCR Final Safety Inspection Form,  you should have your car inspected by an authorized shop before each event.
• If your car has been in any kind of incident where it has been damaged, you must bring the car to an authorized shop before coming to another event and have them fill out a new  NER/NCR Pre-Track Car Safety Technical Inspection Form.
• Drivers in all run groups will be required to go through the daily tech line except for the Red (instructor) run group. You will be required to have a wrist band in order to go through the daily tech line.  The wrist band will be given to you at registration after turning in the proper forms.
• Red run group drivers will turn in their NER/NCR Final Safety Inspection Form at registration since they are not required to go through the daily tech line.
