Open Meeting/President’s Notes

Treasurers Report (shared screen) all of 2024 and did not prepare herself

others prepared. YOY 2023 – 2024 comparison and no AR showing up via

quick books and my first thought should have for sponsorship invoicing and

will contact QuickBooks to allow to tie…

Mixed Assets should not show as a club, it has been updated now, so great.

P&L 2024 zero account information that can show an expense/income and

that is a feature that should have turned on ages ago (Will make changes)

Income category things were netted to income that showed as an expense

and slightly messy and will work to make better and it will be a slow process

and now move into expenses.Misc. not showing in excel, expense lines look decent 2025/2026 we are only

a cash basis and not an accrual basis until we grow and this will have to be

moved until I am able to clean up the work done and I like balance sheets

and month over month… 10-12 2024 and wanted to show how much we

have in funds.

Bank accounts and not accessible to the majority of people and moving

forward and hiking to a small savings account is not my favorite, the thoughts

around 4 CDs and not something I encourage.

Checking, MMK account, 4 CDs and a small Quick Books checking account,

bill.com fund where we pay vendors and gets replenished a sweep account

and gain from 2024 and thoughts the MMK is only making .1% and we need

to switch to a 3.5% and a variable rate and not chase a rate and something to

think about Clinton is not the best..

The A/R is zero and the subledger has 2700 dollars and has not been

reconciled since 2017 and not formally since 2018 and my thought process is

to close the book 12/31/2024 and write off the smaller amounts that do not

tie. the Subledger should tie.

P&L the statements around gala, concourse, AutoX, the palmer $42K and it is

important to see the month over month breakout and we seem to be steady

and need an accurate account of the Journal Entry and has not see one that

has been done and found slightly overwhelming and coming from a lot of

experience and this is supposed to be a small non-profit and this should be

ok once I go slow and triage and the best.

Glenn Question: Spreadsheet is through quick books; Andrea confirmed her

process/cross reference for information to move over to her spreadsheet.

Andrea shared she can do a 12yrs rolling version and we can see more details

and has the ability to show as well.

Communication for Andrea via Treasurer: While we use Bill.com a wonderful

tool and get an email @billporsche.com – invoices via bills/invoices and go

thru the approval process and then approved then payment via when the

payment is due and the vendor can setup the banking detail and do not

touch banking (leave alone and really great)

Reimbursement: if we had to pay out of pocket, then we will go to bill.com

and pay from there and submit (bailey just sent a mail package and he is nowa new vendor in bill.com) Andrea will create a process and it should come

straight from the bank account and invoice is the way to go..

Will create a new vendor package is 1099 due in 1/31/205 and NER has

NEVER sent a 1099 and the grand total of $600.00 and we gather that info as

we go and when we get a new vendor and send a new package and send to

bill.com and share their 1099 from the vendor and it will be good for the new

treasurer.. it is cheap $50.00 or less (New Vendor Package to get out to the

Board)

$250.00 does not need a vote, but ALL expenses should go through

Andrea/Glenn and have eyes on ALL and feel there is a budget to think about

what/where we spend money and have a lot of communication.

Confirmed with Glenn/Board, this process the treasurer is undertaking is not

currently in the Bylaws, the work and a more confirmed process needs to be

included during the Bylaws review now, knowing it can be difficult to change

down the road. Will look at language.

Bank accounts/New: Transitions year after year and Glenn/Andrea have

updated and want to move via the information/Account Number and Routing

Information – Revisit the change for security for the board.

Have a physical Debit Card and have an option to obtain and what are

people’s thoughts and not using unless it was needed and can use the PayPal

account and not all are connected and a thought.

We did not sign a file for a debit card if needed (changed the Mailto: Now

going to Andrea’s house)

Open to have a physical card and when would we need a debit card etc. and

will we have to give the 3digit code…? (Mark/Andrea says yes) Andrea

thoughts if Clinton Savings have a way to use similar to a company card etc.

(more discussion is needed).

Mark: we need a slush fund if the debit card does get compromised.

Andrea: We are FDIC ensured (Andrea)

Glenn: Mailchimp and others we need to confirm what we ONLY have a

payment – Revisit at a later date around the payments and possible writing a

check.Andrea: A massive scrub of the vendor list and making them a vendor (the

letter A was a vendor, the word about was a vendor etc.) – Will need help to

scrub and we reimbursed for a lot of things.

Square Account: Andrea was able to create and get a device and the 1st is

free (showed) What do we need and how many and who needs them and do

sooner rather than later… Repeat of the Gala, (Mark) Rallies – Conquers Chair

and can have an option for a receipt and tap/share email etc.

Square Reader for contactless and chip (2nd Generation) / Square reader for

magstripe (USB-C) Andrea will purchase one of each item (one you only tap)

Glenn: We have a square account and a Stripe Account – Andrea what is your

idea I will ignore since we never used and created a brand-new treasurer

account… and can share the login – Mark will assist with securing a way to

ensure protocols.

Zoom Account for Board Only: NER Board Only Zoom only – Andrea checked

to see a non-profit 501c3 are free (connected to a charity zoom/team for

free).

501C7 and try to get a discount will be nice and try to get a discount online

and there are free google/teams etc. (BettyMae and Kevin, Peter will work

with BettyMae to find a zoom account) that is fine. to work teams.

Due to NER/PCA books not being closed: Andrea was asked if we are in

exposure – we will not get into trouble right now, but we do need to (Glenn

asked If this is an internal audit) yes I need to d the work and receipts for all

and that way going forward and record to the bottom detail..

Venmo, we needed a paper trail and produce a statement and be attached to

the transaction via quick books.

Filing the taxes and the vendors have not been 1099 vendor be more

compliant for the 1099’s.

Mark Gala Update we raised 2K + and all had an enjoyable time waiting for

dates for Cars & Coffee (sort out)

Marketing Resources – to look at other options to do things we probably want

to add an add ’l category in terms of expenses via marketing/printing the

category.

One event apart from SOBO events on the calendar for the entire yr. and the

winter warmer and a huge response forty-five registered thanks Kevin/Peter

and Porsche Boston was great.

Thank you, Andrea we are, all volunteers.

Glenn the Gala: Silent Auction Items we need to rethink potentially around the

Gala gets co-mingled with a charity event and to that end a lot of work.

VP Of Social Events and wants Chairs associated with the Gala/Summer Party

(Sourcing items, donations on behalf of the charities etc..) and can take away

from the event (Glenn asked Mark to take lead on next steps in terms of a

direction).

Charities should have their Square and not using our NER/PCA.

Lake Pearl: Sent a refund etc. no indication around the reason for the additional

funds on the event (Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, Cash APP etc.)

Remove around accepting money at the event – create a communication where

we need to say NO CASH digital money is accepted.What do we do when people want to pay with a check (answer to give back to

the person who donated or keep for the next year).

Ramble update to help cleaner platform via platforms (Facebook, website etc. it

all matched and it was a cross reference) linking each item and the platform to

registers were all aligned and seeing the same things (Calendar helped).

Supporting the Flow of picture: Detail and supported Dan/Avril

Winter Warmer: openly worked.

Larry supported him and all the calendar of events are up, and we will have

more moving forward and that is not for tonight and Luis left a wonderful

platform and can reach out to him and he still showing love.

We will allow people to have the access they need and to enhance the

experience via membership, events and hopefully get more of the people that

we work with Amber around the active emails (finding lost emails, change

phone numbers and we need a platform to roll out and when emails are broken

and come back if a PCA thing and say hey we lost your communication and

welcome them back).

Interns: Media interns and part of a team (the big 3) and concourse, BBQ and

the GALA taking pictures and video and between we come up with a social

media presence: Nicole Auto Motive Journalist – Legacy Members and she can

interview, and we can do via email / online/website and different exposure

Under Dreamweaver Presents.

A Motorsports Reg Account and my events require registration and tending to

use the website a bit and need to discuss on how can fix due to a couple of

complaints.

Mark asked: Can I continue to post on the website and happy to hand over if

that is the way you want to work – can we think through the discussion – Peter

will transition to possibly Ryan and needs to create a job description and not

messing Ryan and run with that now as part of the transition and under the

process to funnel to the webmaster to manage and goes to one point and that

direct point will move

Wants to streamline who has access etc. a flow and effect (Mark to connect

with the communications)

True NER/PCA events are on the site (posting and links, those are going to be

selective and do it on the socials/Facebook etc. and anything we can move to

the calendar and keeping off of NER.com and that is a flow and an approach and

can do this and transition and implementing and following a process for no

confusion).40 People outside of the NER Region and have to discuss with Doreen and she

did a lot of marketing/Instagram.

Dan/Av Membership

Received at least eight unsubscribe from the clean mailing list and Anker has

scrubbed and Anker scrubbed it and mailed it to the Mailchimp and Anker is still

the owner, but Dan shared he made Andrea a user for the software.

Dan shared he is the currently owner: Mark is an author; Andrea has admin, and

shared Andrea can complete the credit card.

Doreen needs to have the GPS product paid (Shared with Andrea

Trying to understand around those who are unsubscribe.

DE Parties/AutoX awards Party/etc. too much communication and folks are

unsubscribing.

Concerns around manual maintenance to the list each month and the new

membership list from National do we wipe out the challenging work from

MailChimp (something to think about).

Watched a video around a template and a board and different membership

numbers and have not received Jan/and had twenty-two new members one

transferred in etc. Dan has numbers (report can be shared)

We would like to take the numbers on a monthly basis to draft/chart out and

wanted to ask for historical information and perhaps we can find a database

from national. And populate the graphs around membership is growing.

Charlotte – National membership chair (see if she can provide)

Membership: New Members Meeting Porsche Burlington (Dan and collaborate

directly with John) Mark shared it has been run in the March timeframe.

Dan will collaborate with Peter on the Newcomers meeting and the date/time

and scrub the membership list and setup the parameters.

Porsche owners who may not be PCA members (dealership can help) and help

us get some people (Create Business Cards/Etc. to join the NER/PCA and get a

box of a thousand cards made up and work with Andre to create and invoice

made up) Peter would like to see and view on the brands

currently have, and we need to get more info around officers/board etc.

Andrea shared it can be a lengthy process and getting everyone together and

placing time on the calendar, shared perhaps after today there needs to be

some follow-up and meetings and ducks in the row and do our best to attend.

Glenn to have more parliamentary meeting to meet and discuss and get out in

chunks and one meeting to discuss and need to attack in some sort of strategic

manner and broken up and we do need representation across the entire club.

And meet as a Board and next steps and come into the board and look at a

different Lense and get dates on our calendars at least a minimum of three

meetings to start with and outline chunk out focus.

A, B, C and get a minute agree digest and have another meeting and what does

that looked at and we need to have time to submit to National and corrections

and it will happen.

Peter, we need to get to Amber as soon as possible, entire board will begin to

Began with Introductions of New Members

Annual Gala update events have wrapped up. Seventy-seven registered and things are set in motion, all

is mostly sorted, need volunteers and the check in process two people and do want to allow for each

volunteer have a team of six people to switch out each 15-20 minutes to allow all enjoy. the pre-event to

attend prior to have many hands to help setup.

Budget (share) able to walk through the pricing for the event. This year we gain a sponsor from PCA

national since it will be a charity event. $750.00 and gained a 10% discount only on the Entree since we

came back from the Summer Party.

Kristin has oﬀered to volunteer if she attends.January events: winter warmer at herb chambers in Boston, MA open to having again in 2025 and will

connect with the Lead person Peter for an exact date typically done in February ’25 (have not begun to

build the new facility yet due to a number of approvals needed)

KMC in February ’25 and we will typically be hosted after the winter warmer.

Dan asked if is there a chance for a 50/50 raﬄe options? (charity/winner) and typically a successful

revenue generator and may have some issues due to the $$$ will work with Glenn towards the 2025

season.

Andrea Smith: it can be a reporting restriction et… it may cause a concern.

Charity will be on site… (pay directly and ask Robert his thoughts around how he plans to manage

payment and receive receipts)

Andrea to check with Bailey for the Square accounts…. Venmo is another possibility. Andrea will work

with Bailey and get more direction and clarification.

Meeting Minutes November:

Motion to approve – Kristin asked if there are minutes sent out from Rico regarding Glenn’s Zone

Presidents’ meeting. They did not create this time etc. Term limits, review of the RPM, bylaws and

compliance were well discussed between the presidents. Well attended event with 11 presidents from

11 zones were present. Next presidents meeting will be April.

Zone 1 is set up as a legal entity, and it is corporation. Rico shared that is likely to un-incorporate in

2025, more to come in terms of updates/changes. At the end of the year, Rico Diaz ‘s term ends at the

end of the year. A replacement has yet to be named. He will no longer be our Zone 1 rep due to his

term expiring. (Glenn reshared the notes in the minutes for the new directors coming on board) etc.

Bylaws and compliance were well discussed at the meeting.

BaileyMade revisions and financial review of meetings and had to make some corrections, a little revenue for

the Gala. A noteworthy conversation of the CD (checking/Money Market) accounts have matured and

rolled into new 8 month CDs and prior to that we had add ’l $$ and ytd 7K and earning almost 1K per

month. It has been an outstanding strategy. We are a non-profit and we do need to be careful around

having those dollars and how we apply. This money can be used to subsidize other events.

Andrea asked some questions around the CD (terms) and better understand the reinvesting options

(Andrea / Bailey will connect oﬄine).

Clinton Savings Bank – Glenn and Andrea/Bailey (board resolution that needs to go to the bank) and

need a quorum as formality to add Andrea, retain Glenn, and remove Bailey as treasurer as sole

signatories of the bank accounts.

Biggest on comm the transition to support in the capacity for 60 days (end of January and created a

timeline/outlines/ media planning etc. and will connect on Saturday for a virtual walk through)

Posting and things of the nature and centered around the Gala until new dates Kevin/peter and will

support. Providing Baseline address users/sessions etc. Glenn acknowledged Luis’s contributions and

told Peter & Kevin they had “big shoes” to fill!

Transition has been done Ramble, AutoX and DE chair, concourse and rally and make sure they do their

work and did pass onto Jeﬀ. Jeﬀ and Kristin did aggressive driving on the Ramble. The Ramble

committee needs to own and not the board. Reach out is on them and have to do this in the moment.

Adam Schwartz, will take replace Stan Corbett as Safety Chair in January. Not a shadow role Adam will

own this role. It has been in the works for the past couple of years and do have others who can step into

the role if needed, Kristin will send Glenn an email for next steps.

The only thing to share with the incoming board. We had some issues this year and the ’25 board should

feel free to speak their minds. Glenn assured Kristin that the incoming board members input and

opinions will be well heard and encouraged.

Questions around who has access to board email lists and the correct board members board members

are listed. Glenn stressed the [email protected] list should include board member emails onlyBoard confirmed the need to update to the email list and remove the outgoing boards mmbers email

addresses.

Future regular monthly meetiings will be the second wed each month at 6:30pm (all good).

Bylaws and Parliament committee will review and template.

Glenn attended the Zone 1 Presidents meeting in Albany on November 8-10th. It was a good turn out with a lot of great discussion. Rico Diaz, the current Zone 1 rep, term expires this year, and a replacement has yet to be named. It turns out Zone 1 is an incorporated entity and PCA is looking the Zone to unincorporate like the other zones. This no impact on NER. However, Zone produced events like the Clash at The Glen and the Ocean Board Walk event are in jeopardy unless a region(s) picks them up. The presidents of the Niagara and New Jersey regions expressed an interest in doing so.

Long interactive discussions regarding bylaw changes were had. Other regions are going through their revisions, and two have gone through successfully. Essential information such as what worked and what did not work was exchanged.

Election is still open, 14% participation. Two members shared did not receive the notification. Glenn collaborated with them and were able to find. Outside of that we are in decent shape. Confirmed that Sterling will be involved as a teller.

Expecting results on Saturday, November 16^th.

December meeting will have the new board members attend, and the 2^nd Wednesday of December 11, 2024.

Redbook/Glovebox

At the Zone 1 meeting, software on the PCA Org site offers a free software (called Glovebox) access as a repository of confidential region data such as Redbooks and confidential information. Glovebox – each person has the ability to upload into your own section and at that point only the president has access to all data. It is tied into a PCA log on id and generates a report and during the turnover, the information is automatically captured and transitioned as board member change.

Freedcamp is not recommended based on national and they are uncomfortable using Freedcamp as alternative since this is not secure enough for national.

Concern: Currently non-board members still have access to view information including financials in Freedcamp. (Ryan and comms team will review).

Ryan shared this should not be a problem to export to a file and keep history/archive and in terms of adopting the national policy.

Luis is there a cost for usage: Glenn shared – It is free no cost.

The report is uploaded to Freedcamp, and a few noteworthy things discussed around the CDs have matured. New 4.16% CDS will use the same naming conventions was already shown in QuickBooks and the accounts did not change and so what I did and changed the name of the CD convention to show which ones are new and mature 6/25/25.

There has been some residual from AutoX expenses along with the Dow Rally, and 2025 ramble expenses.

There is another big one which is income for membership services directly from national. That has been accounted for and based on this time last year were are currently off by 3% and have received those funds.

Glenn asked around Watkins Glen to see if check was cleared.

Gala (Glenn to report) only nineteen registered so far, and if you are planning to attend, please do so, we do have 5 weeks out and will need to send an updated photo for the event.

Luis has done some advertising and spruce up the imagery and add to what is showing today online.

Perhaps some updated photos, and Stephen has shared he will send a new email to the members.

Amount of $ needed is due on December 7^th for a final registration. Glenn will connect with Mark to push out the date and check with Mark to see if he agrees. The good news we can always add to the head count and the trend here is folks wait for the last minute to sign up similar to the summer party.

Is there a budget w/a guarantee of $2,500.00 (mark to share budget cost)

Porsche / Yoga at Porsche Burlington: this event is focused around bringing a yoga expert and focused on women only. Porsche Burlington will /own the registration directly. Goal, they will seek to have roughly 15-20 openings and sign up is available great. (Need to obtain date from Mark to create post on our website)

Luis shared around a Brunch/Lunch/dinner (spontaneous opportunity for the club, like what has been done in the past)

Feedback from Paul in RI – try not to overlap events and take away from other events, how can we limit take a survey to gauge interest in 2025.

Luis, perhaps ask more directly around the events and do our members feel they were too many. last two cars and coffee were a hit.

Website (Ryan) home page is showing attendance and gauge next few weeks, and then we can update Motorsport Reg.

Victory Auto Design and was happy to collaborate with our club and perhaps work in the future. Are we able to use this as a cross branding and an immense success.

OPS work and the focus next 30 days to trans to the next team, logins, websites and Freedcamp more to come… google and spending time with co-chairs and defer to them on how they want to run the show and hand off from Sterling, calendar, homepage, data etc…

Analysis – site data and year/over/year in terms of visitors (getting add ’l numbers from Luis) some traffic has been limited. Trends what type of cars, owners, four doors etc… viewed some Google Analytics Data… general interest has been trending upward (shared some statistics with the board).

To date – 5K visits YOY a 5% upward change.

Visits are flat and still a solid advertising/selling point for sponsors. (good revenue generating point)

Ryan: Domain name is expiring, and it was not setup for auto renewal for payment and it only accepts PayPal or credit card, and one other can auto renew at $25 and do a multi-year renewal and wanted to run by and do not want to have to think about it.

Bailey is sharing we cannot get onto PayPal account, and it works for Kristin and Bailey is not able to access. (Kristin to ensure removes her information to allow the new Treasurer full access).

Board inquired for more clarification: Is this just for the Porshenet.com referencing the URL, also where are we posting, and the ownership of the webhost name?

Ryan asked Brett to see how that is being paid and has not heard back and will continue to do more digging to clear up. (Ryan to own point of contact and work with Glenn)

Glenn will send an email, cc Ryan, and see what is going on and Sterling may be able to shed more light. The board will need to simply ensure we are tracking. Glenn will send an email out to Sterling for clarification.

PayPal- Kristin and bailey to connect with Ryan about login ID and Passwords for help in the form of payment (Bailey to work with Ryan to update information).

The final board meeting of the year was held at Bill’s home on the evening of December 13. Between the old and new board members, plus Turbo the dog, the BBQ buffet provided by Bill and Rosemary was left with few survivors.

The meeting commenced in the usual fashion by a vote to accept the Treasurer’s report. A brief review of our advertising and sponsorship status leading into next year was followed by a survey of the 2018 budget. Partly due to high activity attendance and the move to a digital newsletter, our club’s reserves are healthier than years past. Especially noteworthy for 2018 is an increase in our charitable giving. The board decided to share our good fortune by giving back a bit more to the community. A motion was approved to present an additional $7,500 donation to Homes for Our Troops at the January Gala. The board also voted to boost the designated charity of our autocross program, Loaves and Fishes food pantry in Ayer, with an additional $6,000 donation. After all of the good financial news, the discussion migrated to the more mundane topic of introducing board meeting logistics to our newly elected members. This segued into an approved motion to slightly increase the reimbursement of board meeting hosts to $20 per guest. Last on the housekeeping agenda was the approval of an organizational system for the various documents used in our club. Activity chairs are free to organize as they like, as long as the board is kept updated on storage locations and access. Our incoming secretary is tasked with communicating the details to our chairs.

Designs for our 60th anniversary shirts were passed around the room and a favorite sketch and logo were decided (look out for these to become available very soon!). An amount of $500 was approved to produce calendars with a simplified NER logo. These will be introduced and available at the gala dinner. Conversation around the gala was light as Glenn, Robert, and the additional committee members have all but the final details finished for our year-capping flagship event.

Anker circulated a proposal to rotate content review duties amongst board and communications team members. The new review matrix and deadlines are an attempt to spread out the burden of publishing the NOR’EASTER. An upcoming issue will include an in-depth explanation of the new PCA rule requiring a HANS for DE participants using harness belts.

As a last item for the year, the board delighted in passing around a Lifetime Achievement plaque for long-time member Steve Ross. A decision was previously made to honor Steve, who has helped shape our club over decades of participation, at the January gala. Congratulations Steve, and thanks for all that you do!

Glove Box – PCA has mentioned around the information to be saved and where we should keep this information (safety precautions) and available to all officers and other roles may be able to leverage as a replacement for Freedcamp and be replaced by Redbook to keep reports per national policy committee moving forward.

Glenn will seek help to create a sunset timeline and move files/items over from Freedcamp via Luis and Ryan.

Note: Other items that have been shared for DE folks/driving use google drive to save their information/reports and it may make sense to merge under one platform (Glove Box – will need to produce a plan to allow the sunsetting of all files – more to come).

Bailey’s Treasurer’s Report

Shared Account information and received notification to decide if we would like to make a change. Will review rates 5-60 months .1% or .7% or a 5-month CD special 4.9% and will confirm on 10/21 – 10/31 to make a final decision as it matures.

Will look to present to the board if a final vote is needed from the board vote to continue the implementation or recommendations moving forward. Will continue to review. Will need to make a virtual vote for the board to approve. Bailey will share more information to share to allow directors.

One update November 3^rd event with one of our partners for the mentioned Formula/Tech Session event, we will move this to the early winter.

Porsche coffee, Sobo etc. (on the website for upcoming events through November)

Gala needs for volunteers – will share an event volunteer and BettyMae will share the volunteer names who have shown interest.

Need to open Gala registration – the menu needs to be locked down and once complete on the final cost and open the registration – looking to have this work done by other years via the menu. Open registration next week.

VP Communications – Luis’ report shares his project will be wrapping up (board to review Luis’ report he shared Freedcamp) and working on the transition plan for Peter/Kevin and will learn more at the next board meeting. 6K visits per month.

42 Passengers course is designed and will go through NH and should be a great drive. Motorsports – Charlie and Martha Dow’s son will attend along with four people, and one will drive Charlie’s yellow 911 which was parked outside his funeral services.

Will attend the Zone 1 president’s meeting in November and will send the agenda once received. He asked the board to share topics that could be introduced.

Few changes to report for August the prior month, and has looked around monthly motorsport as additional funds came in for the following events: Concours, Dow rally, Summer Party, and Watkins Glen.

Ryan is doing an excellent job maintaining Website updates. The advertising logo(s) were repositioned on the landing page and are now easily viewable on the desktop version.

September Events are posted, along with future upcoming events and asked if there are any other events that need further support.

The Dow Rally can use help. Luis will connect with Bill around support in terms of driving traffic to the home page/social pages. Ramble & Concours are areas of suggestion in terms of a great page to emulate.

Operations – VP Comms Candidates Kevin and Peter were in attendance. Luis shared that he is willing to support onboarding for the first 60 days to help ramp up onboarding faster and more effectively.

NER’s Ramblemeister has offered to help with email messaging. The board agreed to revisit in 2025.

The first Aditoral is completed. The team is currently looking into leveraging templates for future usage. The reason, for the template is due t the amount of considerable time it takes to complete.

Traffic Flow was an area of concern, the team continues to review a variety of data. Traffic flow is relatively low, in certain age categories and the team has identified a significant change. However, in the age group 25-34 are up year over year by 20%. This group has played a significant part in terms website traffic and event attendance.

The communications team also noticed there seems to be an increase with our members in this age category driving 4-door cars vs. older air-cooled cars.

The team will continue to present data and how the board might leverage this information to allow our chairs to think towards 2025 club events.

Kristin VP Driving

Palmer is the last event for NER and a great lunch time education has improved DE continues to show how the program has evolved and received great reviews, and the focus is around education and adding value to the program.

AutoX – VP of Driving shared ongoing discussions around how to assist the AX committee to increase registrations which has been an issue among all clubs.

The issue around sound has also affected other clubs. The team had an idea for a tech session focusing on tech session specifically focused on autocross.

Ramble – The concourse is moving along well, and the ramble is progressing well and the year 2025 is set and the Ramblemeister is looking at 2026 venues the team is in a good place in terms of securing dates/venues.

The Dow Rally is moving along. The registrations are down. and it not that unusual currently. (13 cars registered) but typically will get thirty cars if we consider how last year progressed in terms of registrations. Luis will connect with the DOW chair to help with driving more interest for the DOW event.

Last 2 Porsches / Coffee have had a great turn out and go into October for the final event.

Summer Party – Ended up with ninety-one adults and two youths it was few registered early, then 2 weeks prior we got a jump in terms of interest. Mark noted that while a few unregistered “walk-ins” for the Summer Party some came and paid in cash.

A small few folks did not have cash or a check, and Mark inquired about a better process to make this better and thinking about a unique way to support a member how may be a walk-in. Peter suggested implementing a Venmo, Zell etc., PayPal to address potential walk-ins.

Peter discussed the Venmo option in further detail. The board appreciated Peter, sharing his authentic thoughts and ideas and will revisit this topic with the 2025 board and work with Mark to investigate more workable options for our members.

The Gala is continuing along and plans to open registration soon. The venue will be held at Lake Pearl in Wrentham on 12/21/2024. The event will be in primary building used for formal events such as weddings and is NOT the same building used for the summer party.

Mark started a discussion around event promotion and a “Save the date” website page if the communications team has bandwidth to support. Betty recommended he ask for Gala volunteers.

Mark noted that the club will receive a 10% discount on the food since the club produced the Summer Party. Glenn was pleasantly surprised that the 10% discount was on the food.

Tech Session – Justin would like to do a combined Cars/Tech/FI event and capture a larger interest for the day.

Election and Nominee Updates

The process is continuing along. The chair has identified candidates for all positions at this point and will send a notice for any other for any other member expressing interest.

VP of Communications inquired around the upcoming timeline. The chair shared the timelines was 10/1 for the nominee slate to be finalized.

The board approved the 10/1 posting date.

Glenn President

Mark inquired about revisiting a website redesign. Glenn does have a mockup website he can share for 2025 utilizing WordPress.

Final discussion of the meeting regarded increasing the number of consecutive terms in one office from 2 to 3 years. Due to time constraints the conversation was asked to be tabled and will be resumed on September 26^th meeting seeking a final resolution. Luis suggest we can think about the roles and do a side-by-side comparison.

Glenn wanted to commend the turnaround DE has had this year. He called the work of the chairs truly outstanding.

President-Glenn Champagne

I am Glenn Champagne your region president and seeking vote for reelection. I am a long-time NER member who served as VP of Administration in 2017-2018, and once again in 2022-2023 along with Betty Mae Mosley as Co-Vice Presidents of Administration. During both tenures, Betty Mae and I worked to deliver diverse events throughout the region of interest to all NER members. I reached out to many members for ideas. From that came sell-out events at venues in Boston, Newport, Metro West, and the south and north shores. We brought on new strategic partners like Porsche Burlington and marquee partners like the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism.

I invest in early-stage high-technology companies in the Boston area and enjoy equities and options trading. My software career focused on database management and business intelligence as a techie, sales guy, and executive, and always loved the excitement of the start-up. I am also a director emeritus of Launchpad Venture Group and Lucy’s Love Bus . I live in Needham and Martha’s Vineyard where I fail miserably – or gloriously – to spend more time eating oysters on the beach. In addition, I mangle and collect orange cones at NER autocrosses. With the addition of my new-to-me 2019 991.2 4S, I joined the “I have more cars than parking spots” club. Anyone know if there is a FB group?

Last year I called for “fresh eyes” that bring new ideas, new perspectives, new venues, new events and greater efficiencies in existing events and programs. And we accomplished just that. Among those accomplishments:

After a difficult 2013, our driver education program had a very successful year through new and improved training materials, an innovative event registration policy for our Calabogie DE event, producing excellent turnouts and financial results.
Reallocation of club funds from 0.1% money market funds to secure CDs yielding 5.00%, producing a ~1,300% return on investment.
Two new venues for our signature Summer Party and Annual Gala events incurring significantly lower costs.
Our website generates upward of 6000 visits per month showing recent increase visits from a younger demographic, many of whom driving two and four door cars.

I am NER’s 1^st non-DE president in at least 25 years. In the board’s executive meeting. In the board’s January executive session, I called for the board to re-visit our policies and procedures, board composition, term limits, voting & election processes. In late September of this year, it was brought to my attention from PCA’s national office that we will need to realign many of these issues with PCA standards and mandates. This effort will begin in earnest January 1^st, 2025.

Diversity is very important to me as it is with PCA. In addition to what is commonly known as diversity and inclusion, PCA treats all Porsches as equals. It is therefore important that our board be composed of members from our performance driving programs, social driving programs, social events, and those driving any Porsche vehicle.

Times have changed. For a region with 3,600 members, we’ve made great progress this year but there’s more to be done. The board has begun to think & act strategically, an aspect long overdue and very important to me. I want to lead the board in this effort as the club continues to evolve. There’s a lot of growth opportunities and innovative ideas ahead of us. Therefore, I respectfully submit myself for reelection as president.

But most importantly, we are here to fun, drive our cars, and share are passion for all things Porsche.

VP Admin Mark Shane

I have been a member of PCA for almost 13 years and owned my first Porsche (in this country) for just a bit more than that. My love of the Porsche brand and in particular the 911 started when I was just a boy. My poster car was the original 911S. When I found out how much it cost my dreams of owning one were shattered, or so I thought. When I started working in the summers I believed – if I save hard maybe I might be able to afford a 911 one day. But every few years as I was earning more and more the price of a 911 was going up and up, much to my chagrin.

I learned to drive in air-cooled VW beetles of my father and even owned a super-bug myself which I tuned with a Weber carburetor and after-market exhaust. My first brand new car that I bought with my own money was an early model Subaru sedan that was only front-wheel drive in those days. Do you start to see a pattern here? All my cars had boxer engines up to that point. I even owned an Alfasud, which I think never made it to the USA. It had a 1.6 liter boxer engine, so I still did not break the pattern. Finally, after waiting and saving for so many years, I bought my first 911 in Australia. It was a 1987 911SC.

In the intervening years I had a couple of company cars and some filler cars until I came to the USA where my first car was Subaru WRX. It was a great all round car for New England and we had many adventures together.

Thanks to the encouragement of my lovely wife Aya, I secured my first 911 in this country, a 2002 911 Carerra 4 cabriolet and now we also have a 2003 911 turbo and a 2019 Macan in our stable of. Porsches.

For the past 2 years I have held the position of Porsches and Coffee Chair and have volunteered and helped organize other social events with the current joint VP Admins Glen and Betty-Mae. Apart from my passion for cars, I have held executive positions on the boards of various bands I was in. Music is one of my other passions.

If I am elected as VP Admin, I will endeavor to listen to the needs of the members of our club and try to keep our social events relevant to as many people as possible, while always being on the lookout for a variety of fun new events.

VP Admin – Kevin Donaldson

My name is Kevin Donaldson, and I’d like to thank you all for considering me for the VP of Admin role in our club. I’ve been a long-time NER member, and my passion for Porsche started at 19 with my first Speed Yellow 986. Since then, I’ve owned twenty different Porsches, with my current pride and joy being a PTS Maritime Blue 991.2, which took best in class at this year’s Concours d’Elegance in Newport. I believe in driving and enjoying each of my vehicles, whether it’s at track events or fundraisers such as Dream Ride for Special Olympics.

Professionally, I serve as a business leader, advisory board member, and business owner across multiple industries. My innovative approach inspires proactive and creative action, fostering growth both personally and in business. I love connecting with fellow enthusiasts at events that celebrate the brand we all cherish. A memorable moment for me was when I sold my beloved 986 to the same salesman who sold me my 991.1, after he fell for it just as I had.

We’re all united in NER by our shared passion for Porsche. Each member brings unique skills to the table, and together, we can contribute to the club’s greater good. Thank you again for considering me and for the opportunity to share my skills with you all.

VP Driving Events – Jeff Croteau

Greetings to my fellow driving enthusiasts in the Northeast Region of the PCA!

My name is Jeff Croteau, and I am flattered to be approached and nominated to run for the VP of Driving for NER for 2025.

Over the past ten years, I have met many of you at NER autocross events at Fort Devens or perhaps at our HPDE events. I started driving autocross because my kids were getting their driver’s licenses, and I wanted them to learn the limits of the vehicles they drive and develop better car control. I have three children: Alex, Brianna, and Emily. I participated in autocross for a few years with Alex and Brianna. Alex is an aggressive competitor and is an outstanding snowmobile driver. He’s a great all-around athlete but habitually used ‘digital foot throttle’ in my 991. Alex was either fully ‘ON’ or ‘OFF’ the gas. In his last event in my 991, he spun and went backward, almost striking a building – all on GoPro, too! That was his last event in my 991.

My daughter, Brianna, however, was much smoother with the throttle. She takes direction very well and is very coachable. She won the novice class in my 991 on her second time at autocross and then heard about the DE Ground School. We attended the NER ground school the following spring, and from that point on, we became hooked on the PCA driver education experience. My youngest, Emily, is an even more competitive athlete than the other two, runs half marathons for fun, and plays Club Lacrosse for UNH while pursuing her nursing degree. Brianna has made it clear to Emily that HPDE is her thing to do with Dad, so Emily and I mountain bike together.

Professionally, I have been a consulting engineer in crash analysis and automotive safety for the past thirty years. I started my career at Exponent’s Test and Engineer Center in Phoenix, AZ, and have conducted hundreds of full-scale crash and rollover tests using Anthropomorphic Test Devices (test dummies). My analyses are used in litigation settings that involve on-road and off-road vehicles and in legal matters with product defect or insurance negligence claims. I have testified as an expert witness in state and federal courts nationwide in accident reconstruction, crashworthiness, automotive component design, and occupant protection. The experience I have gained while driving in HPDE events has bolstered my academic understanding of vehicle dynamics, handling, and stability – not to mention the fantastic experiences and great friends I have made over the past several years.

I live in Milford, MA, with my wife, Amy, and when I am not driving at HPDE, I enjoy boating, fly-fishing, hunting, riding off-road ATVs and side-by-sides, and my other passion, snowmobiling. I am a 24-year member of a sportsman club in Milford, MA, and I served as the treasurer for that organization for over 12 years.

My professional experience and volunteer tenure with the sportsman association have provided me with significant exposure to corporate governance, the need for strategic thinking by board members, and the tactical direction pursued by the various committees that make up the organization. If selected for the VP of Driving, I will bring positive energy and enthusiasm to the Board of Directors. I am open-minded and will provide a fresh perspective to NER to ensure a reasonable balance to all NER events as an advocate for all our driving experiences. I want to increase the awareness of HPDE in and out of the northeastern Porsche community. I will promote our events to attract a diverse group of drivers to include men and women, across all ages and backgrounds.

I hope to receive your vote as VP of Driving in the Northeast Region of the PCA.

Treasurer – Andrea Smith

My name is Andrea Smith and I am originally from Plymouth, Massachusetts but hold a dual citizenship with the United States and Ireland. I hold two undergraduate degrees in Aviation Flight Operations and Aviation Management, as originally, I had dreams of flying for FedEx or UPS. I have been flying since I was 16 years old and have been very passionate about aviation, however shortly after graduating I switched my career choice and received my Master’s Degree in Accountancy. I have been working for the past ten years in Accounting and have recently started studying to sit for the Uniform CPA exam. Currently, I’m living in Tewksbury, Massachusetts with my partner, our three cats and bird, working as a Senior Accounting Manager for a global manufacturing company.

While my excitement for flying is still alive, in the last three years, I’ve also become quite passionate about cars – namely Porsche. My partner and I own two Porsche’s – a Taycan and a Macan, and we love taking our matching gentian blue set to PCA car shows! It’s become a great way to meet new people who have the same passion for Porsche that we do.

It is because of this newfound love for the Porsche community that I find myself excited to volunteer for the 2025 PCA NER Treasurer position. I believe that with my background and expertise, I can be an asset in this role.

Secretary – Bob Binder

My name is Bob Binder and I am excited to be nominated for Secretary of NER for the upcoming year. My wife Marcia and I have been members of NER since 2012 when we purchased our first Porsche (1987 white 911 with a whale tail). My passion for Porsche started many years ago. In fact, I first started driving manual transmission cars while in college and working as a parking lot attendant at a high-end country club on Long Island. The owners of the Porsches and VW Beetles would toss over the keys and say “Have Fun”. I promise you: no clutches or trannies were damaged in the process!

Marcia and I began to attend social events but became hooked on DE when we won a raffle at the annual DE Ground School in 2017. At our first event we shared a car, an instructor (Dave Berman) and a helmet (Marcia’s Mother’s Day present that year was her own helmet). We now attend multiple DE events each year – in addition to a 2009 911 cabriolet, we own a 2010 Cayman S which we have modified and dedicated to the track. While we love driving on the track, a huge part of our enjoyment of these events is socializing with the people (many of whom have become very good friends). In addition to DE, we continue attend social events with the Porsche club throughout the year.

I am a veterinarian and have been in practice for 45 years. During my career, I have worked on animals large and small, although most of my career involved worked on people’s pets (dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles, and rodents). For over 20 years, I also treated injured native wildlife as a pro-bono service. I owned an animal hospital in Saugus, MA for 30 years. When I purchased the practice in 1987, there were 4 staff members and 2 veterinarians. Over the years, I was able to hire and retain a staff of 5 veterinarians plus 16 staff members. My approach to practice was to be honest and compassionate and to maintain the highest standards of care. My approach as an employer was to be the kind of boss that I always wanted to have for myself. My management style was to be collaborative with my employees by having weekly staff meetings to discuss clinical, interpersonal, and management topics with resolution coming from obtaining a consensus that was compatible with our core values. I sold the practice to a corporate entity 7 years ago with the proviso that there would be no changes made to the culture of the practice. I have been mostly retired for the past 5 years, but still maintain a close relationship with many former employees.

Marcia and I live in Melrose with our female Golden Retriever Blue. During the winter, our passion is downhill skiing, and we spend a fair amount of the winter skiing at Alta, Utah. Over the years, my family and I have skied most of the major resorts in the United States. During our travels, we have made many friends in the skiing community and have had the opportunity to make friends with and learn from some of the best ski instructors in the country. We have two adult daughters, and they enjoy hearing about our exploits on and off the track. I feel that my experience and approach will make me an asset to the NER Board. People that know me can tell you that, while I have expertise in various areas, I am always interested in learning new things. My approach to problem solving involves listening, offering suggestions after critical evaluation, and being willing to compromise for the greater good. I hope that I can earn your vote.

Secretary-Betty Mae Mosley

My name is Betty Mae Mosley and I seek your vote for reelection as NER Secretary!

My day job allows me to thrive and do splendid work as a Human Resource Talent Hiring Consultant at Fidelity Investments. In this role, I have the privilege of hiring over nine hundred associates year over year on behalf of Fidelity’s diverse workforce via our phone distribution centers across the country. I have recently celebrated 21 years at Fidelity Investments this past September and believe that is an important milestone. As a leader, I have the privilege of holding a variety of leadership roles in our Employee Resource Group based out of both our Boston and Smithfield, Rhode Island locations. As a Professional Development and Global Leader, I continuously collaborate very closely with our Emerging Leaders focused on shared initiatives, programming while being incredibly successful, creating, implementing, and building bridges with our internal and external partners across the country. Most recently, our continued efforts around obtaining the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Scholars Licensing Program where we engage heavily in direct collaboration with a variety of collegiate partners such as Bryant University, SNHU, CCRI, URI, UMASS.

As my day job translates to NER, I am seeking your vote to continue to ensure that all voices of the club are fully represented by way of advocacy via the board as the collective continues to do the splendid work on behalf of ALL MEMBERS, not a few. Finding ways to improve our efforts within our car community has always been a thoughtful approach when collaborating with our sponsors, business partners and most importantly you the MEMBER! As a leader on the Fidelity’s Human Resource Leadership team, I not only excel in my role bringing in top talent, but I am also very successful utilizing my skills towards building rapport, navigating differing styles of communication and the ultimate goal is to leave experiences better than I found them and that is what I bring to the board as secretary.

As secretary seeking reelection, I understand the importance of having meaningful and productive conversations while experiencing to ensure we are working towards a sense of community. I do this, in part by creating lasting relationships intentionally. I along with Glenn have ensured a smooth transition to Mark Shane, our VP of Administration. I am and have always been a champion whether it is volunteering on the Porsche NER Board, Fidelity’s Social Impact through our outreach program or simply supporting efforts through NAACP Martha’s Vineyard.

I believe in working collaboratively, most importantly respectfully and always showcasing respect through meaningful dialogue, having fellowship with my colleagues and peers allows everyone to come to the table as their authentic selves and this allows everyone to thrive and prosper while contributing to a positive/engaging work environment as we do the work on behalf of NER.

I have enjoyed and helped at so many of our events over the years such as The Ramble, The Concours, various rallies, The Gala, Summer party. I even enjoyed watching Glenn set records for most cones hit in Autocross. And more importantly, the friends and relationships built along the way.

Active listening is key whether that be during my day job, or my volunteer work in NER. Make no mistake, the work we do is extremely important and has a great deal of value when supporting relationships! My experience over the past two decades at Fidelity have allowed me to continue leaning into my volunteerism and allowed me to create, lead and inspire others to explore meaningful opportunities whether professional or personal.

While in my day job, I continue to mentor/coach our newer associates I find it rewarding with working through foundational differences with other leaders who are highly engaged at NER, NAACP and Fidelity Investments to create a safe space for many voices which is the goal of this club. We all happen to love cars, but at the end of the day, we are creating human connections, sharing meaningful experiences building bridges where are feel welcome.

As a PCA national officer told me, “We are a social club with a car problem.” and we must remember this as leaders in the NER community.

I will continue to be a champion of NER’s vision as the club continues to move forward into 2025.

I look forward to my continuation of building that vision for current and future members, and most importantly, fostering positive relationships, conducting myself professionally, always holding others accountable during interactions with our members.

I recently traveled to Beaune France and indulged in wonderful wines and yes of course, since I was a member of the International Wine and Food Society years ago, I still enjoy fine wines and shipped back to share alongside good friends during those fabulous dinner invitations. Outside of volunteering on behalf of NER and NAACP, I spend my time with my wonderful partner Glenn, family and great friends in both Needham and Martha’s Vineyard, with our beloved cat, Jabba the Hutt!!!

Membership – Co-Chairs Dan Gramm and Avril Silverman

Our names are Dan Gramm and Avril Silverman and we are honored to be nominated for Co-Membership Chairs with The Northeast Region of the Porsche Club of America.
You may have recognized our #88 Boxster winding around the Autocross track in Ayer and on the main streets and backroads of the many wonderful rallies and rambles held by the club since 2018.

Dan, originally from Stoughton, MA, is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, and has a diverse background in sales and marketing. Avril, originally from Dublin, Ireland, has her Masters from University College, Dublin, and works in system development in the financial investment industry. Our combined experience make us a dynamic duo to spread the word and grow the membership of our club.

Outside of the PCA, we enjoy running with our hometown running club, the Waltham Trail Runners, bicycling, birding, nature photography, hiking and snowboarding the slopes of New England and beyond.
We have lived in Waltham since 2003 and owned a 987 Boxster, a 958 Cayenne GTS and a 981 Boxster S. We are currently on the hunt for another Cayenne to add to the stable.

VP Communications – Co-Chairs Kevin Moran and Peter Palmero

My name is Kevin Park Moran, and I am honored to be nominated for the role of VP of Communications for 2025. I am the Owner, Director of Operations, and CFO of a MA based Youth Sports Organization and I am an entrepreneur. In my role as Director of Operations I handle day-to-day communications through social media as well as Sports Operating system PlayMetrics with over 200 members year-round. I also regularly communicate with people of various backgrounds as entrepreneurs in real estate development and have extensive experience building relationships and managing various projects at a time.

I have been a PCA member since 2019 and have owned two Porsches, a 2012 991.1 Carrera S and now a 991.2 GT3.

Over the past five years I have learned a lot from peers through NER and built relationships with many different people in the Porsche community. I have traveled to the Atlanta Porsches Experiences, attended the annual BBQ, Gala and many Porsche social events throughout the years. I have seen how NER has the potential to connect car enthusiasts, and those experiences have inspired me to get involved and help facilitate the future of NER.

I look forward to sharing my skill set and enthusiasm for the Porsche brand along with my co-chair, Peter D. Palermo.

He has been leading his company for more than 30 years making a significant impact in the communication industry by leveraging its extensive experience in multimedia services to create engaging and innovative experiences. Through its Event Management division, the company orchestrates memorable events that facilitate effective communication between brands and their audiences. In Artist Management, they nurture and promote talent, enhancing the visibility of artists and their work, thereby enriching cultural dialogue. Additionally, their Digital Marketing division employs strategic communication techniques, utilizing social media and digital platforms to connect brands with consumers, drive engagement, and amplify messages in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. This multifaceted approach enables Dream Weaver Presents: to shape narratives, foster connections, and drive impactful communication across various channels.

I am the current owner of a custom modified 2015 Panamera GTS and prior to that a 2009 Cayenne GTS. I am rounding out my first year as an active PCA member but have been an enthusiast since a young boy with a poster of a black 1985 wide body 911 Turbo. (I still have that poster hanging in my garage.

Let’s continue to use Eventbrite for event registrations.

There is a fee associated with these EventBrite Increase.. (Chris and Paul are using the (Motorsport and ClubReg used for the Ramble). Standardizing on one platform in 2024 will make it easier for our members

Motosport Reg Database, has an eblast 300mile radius (Cape to Watkins Glen) they help you in terms of event promotion to a greater geographic.

Bailey – motorsports reg does not charge for tech session (free events) the fees charged but comparable, sharing screen-prints to support on tech issues.. *Based on the Audi experience*

Moving forward with Motorsports registration – all agreed. Need to create a profile, and you can reuse the profile..

In-House Talent – can we build using internal resources (Mark S. has some outside folks)

Webforms, Wix, Square Space – Glenn has experience with Wix – not committed but we need a more contemporary robust platform. (CT, NJ sites are very impressive and get to that caliber of a standard, we need to move forward with a sleeker version) CT is really on point.

Glenn noted that a Zone 1 Presidents Albany, April ’24. Glenn will ask the other presidents on best practices/shared advice. Bring questions to Glenn so he can take to the Albany Meeting..

Let us not take advantage of our sponsors and create a partnership and we need to also ask what we can do for them. Glenn sees this as a partnership. We all win when we support..

Sponsor Partnership Mgr. – Glenn is very concerned about too many event/program repeatedly contacting the same for sponsor for funding. A sponsorship manager can help by identify NER members to be sponsor contact. A sponsorship manager could also help build a sponsorship pricing model i.e., Gold/Silver/Bronze.
